Robert Windell Brisson, Sr., 73, of Bladenboro passed away at his home on Saturday, October 5, 2024. He was born in Bladen County on September 30, 1951, to the late Claudie Robert Brisson and Gertie Lee Bryan Brisson. He was preceded in death by his wife, Connie Marie Tatum Brisson and brother, Donnie Brisson.
Windell leaves behind his sons: Robert Brisson, Jr. and wife Jan of Bladenboro, Shannon Ray Brisson of the home; special daughter-in-law, Mary “Curly” Burgess; sisters: Peggy “PJ” Brisson of Bladenboro, Beckie Brisson of Salisbury; step-grandson, Ryan Clinton and grand puppy, Jordy.
Windell was a devoted Christian, husband and father who loved his family, but above all he loved his Lord and Savior. He knew his Bible and would often minister to others in passing. His famous words were, “Why should I go to a doctor here when I already have the greatest physician in God.” Windell was a good role model for his boys and made sure they were always in church. He had a mechanical mind and had a solution for anything presented to him. His kind and generous heart will be missed beyond measure.
The family will receive friends from 6-8pm on Monday, October 7th at Bladen-Gaskins Funeral Home in Elizabethtown. A funeral service will be held at 2pm on Tuesday, October 8th at Colly Chapel Church in Harrells. Pastor Jim Woodruff will officiate the service. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
