Merry “Robin” Thomas has gone to be with her Heavenly Father and Savior Lord Jesus. Robin passed peacefully on Friday the 11th of February 2022 with her husband, daughter, son-in-law, sister and brother at her side. She was preceded in death by her parents, Bobby Gene and Shirleyann Ritter and sister, Kaylon Jeanette Marks.
Robin is survived by her husband, Joe Thomas of the home; her daughter, Cassie Priest and husband Jamie of Lisbon; her sister, Kelly Fowler of Leland; her brothers: Bill Bartow and Eric Ritter of Wilmington; stepmother, Faye Lewis of Wilmington; countless in-laws, nieces and nephews.
Robin was an artist and crafter. Her most favorite thing to do was to spend time with her daughter, Cassie making cards and doing their crafts. Robin and Cassie were best friends and inseparable. Robin was deeply devoted to her faith in her Lord and Savior Jesus. A day would not go by without her sitting in her chair reading and studying her bible. There were many times she would shed tears of joy, being overwhelmed by the revelations of the truth of the love God had for her personally and all those who turned and trusted in Him. She learned and knew it was not about religion or doctrine, but about a personal relationship with our Savior. Her greatest wish was that all would come to realize and receive the love God has for them as He had for her.
As a wife, a man could not have had a better one. Each and every day, she would greet her husband at the door when he came home from work. Each day she would do her best to make sure he was taken care of before herself. As a wife and mother, she endured 16 years as a military spouse. Her husband gone for months at a time during those years, but throughout all of that, she raised her daughter to grow up to be a woman any mom would be extremely proud of. Robin was a very nurturing, patient, and loving sister. She will be deeply missed by all. She may not have won the fight, but she surely won the battle and was VICTORIOUS!
