Ronnie Dale Gibson, of Clarkton, North Carolina, passed away peacefully on Friday August 30, 2024, at the age of 77.
Ronnie was one of the most faithful and devoted Christians I have ever known. He loved our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, more than life. He was a witness for Christ everywhere he went and talked to. Ronnie knew that as a Christian, we are supposed to be followers of Jesus and to plant a seed as we are all commissioned to try and draw as many as we can to Christ.
Ronnie's next love was for his family, friends, and loved ones. Some of his last words and prayers were that they all get saved and baptized (buried in Christ for remission of their sins), in the name of Jesus, the name given to us in the KJB for the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit, so we would all be together again one day.
Ronnie's third love was planting and gardening of God's flowers and trees. He loved watching the flowers blooming and the trees bearing fruit. His gardening was a reflection of his faith-vibrant, diverse, and full of life.
Ronnie will be deeply missed, but his legacy lives on through the countless lives he touched, the Godly seeds he planted, and the beauty he brought to the world.
He was preceded in passing by his mother and father, Mildred Tatum Davis and Rushian James Gibson; his sister, Vivian Carol Gibson; and grandson, CJ Sasser.
Left to cherish his memory are his daughter, Janet Gibson-Sasser; his sisters, Carolyn Lane Wilson and her husband Terry and Debra Joy Gibson; his grandchildren, Kevin Sasser, Jacob Sasser, Caleb Walters and Nicholas Gibson; six great-grandchildren and many friends and extended family.
The family will receive friends from 6-8pm on Monday, September 2nd at Bladen-Gaskins Funeral Home in Elizabethtown. A funeral service will be held at 1pm on Tuesday, September 3rd at Bladen-Gaskins Funeral Home. Burial will follow in the White Oak Baptist Church Cemetery.
