Rosalie Tew Bryant, formerly of Dunn, entered into heavenly rest on Friday, February 25, 2011. She was born to Perry and Gladys Lee Tew on February 17, 1929 in Sampson County. She was a loving and devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Her faith in God was confirmed by the life she lived.
She was preceded in death by her husband Waylon C. Bryant. She is survived by daughters, Patsy Lewis, husband Hubert and Linda Melvin, husband Mike all of Elizabethtown; grandchildren Kellye Lewis of Elizabethtown; Lin Melvin and wife Jennifer also of Elizabethtown; Leigh Ann Jolly and husband Scott of Dunn. Great- grandchildren are Laine and Dylan Melvin, Caleb Andrews, Emma, Christopher and Alexandra Jolly.
Her greatest joy was serving as a volunteer at Bladen County Hospital for 24 years. She was chosen Volunteer of the Year in 1988. She looked forward each week to seeing her BCH family, knowing they loved her just as she loved them. A special Thank You from the family for the love and care she was given goes out to all the staff of Bladen County Hospital. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Bladen County Hospital Auxiliary at P O Box 398, Elizabethtown NC 28337.
Visitation will be Sunday, February 27th from 1:00 - 1:45 pm followed by a celebration of life service at 2:00 p.m. at Bladen-Gaskins Funeral Home in Elizabethtown. Burial service will be at Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Dunn at 4:30 p.m.
