Rosalie Lennon Clewis, 87, of Bladenboro went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, October 11, 2020 at Lumberton Health and Rehabilitation Center. She leaves behind three sons: Dale Clewis of Bladenboro; David Clewis (Amy) of Littlefield; Greg Clewis of Matthews; one brother, Billy Paul Lennon (Ila Mae) of Kernersville, NC; two sisters, Hilda L. Bass of Clarksville, VA; Joyce L. Holsinger (Melvin) of Arlington, VA; four grandchildren: Ethan Clewis, Riley Clewis, Amy Clewis Murray(Luke) and Wil Clewis and three great grandchildren: Evelyn, Lorilai, and Damon. Rosalie was preceded in death by her parents, O.W. Lennon and Frankie Bodenheimer Lennon, her husband, Layton Clewis and one brother, George Franklin Lennon.
Rosalie was a devoted Christian wife, mother, and grandmother. She taught Sunday school at First Baptist Church and Bethel Holiness Church for many years. Rosalie loved to work in her yard and was an accomplished seamstress. Her quiet, sweet and reserved demeanor will certainly be remembered for eternity.
The family will receive friends from 10-11:00 am on Wednesday, October 14th at Bethel Holiness Church in Bladenboro followed by a funeral service at 11:00 am with Rev. David Clewis and Rev. Brody Pope officiating. Burial will follow the services in the Kelly Cemetery in Bladenboro.
