Rosaura Bonilla de Alvarez

Rosaura Bonilla de Alvarez, 83, of Elizabethtown went to her eternal home on Tuesday, May 14, 2024 while at New Hanover Regional Medical Center. She was born on September 2, 1940 in Honduras the daughter of the late Andres Bonilla and Pastora Acevedo.

Rosaura was preceded in death by, her parents, one daughter Alvania Alvarez, and two grandchildren Omar V. and Elizabeth A

Left to cherish her memory are her children Maria Alvarez (Florentino Valladarez), Luis Alvarez (Rose Marie Hunt), Leonor Alvarez (Leonel Cabrera), Daniel Alvarez (Flor Alvarez), Francis Alvarez (Marco Escoto), Carol Alvarez (Antonio Monreal), Angelica Alvarez, David Alvarez and his children, Noe Alvarez and his children, and Osvaldo Avarez and his children, her siblings Maria Bonilla, Reyna Bonilla, Juan Bonilla, and Santos Bonilla. She also leaves behind grandchildren Carlos V., Manuel V., Vanessa V., Seily F., Yarin F., Katherine A., Jada A., Luis A., Eric C., William C., Leonela C., Chris C., Tatiana A, Chelsey A., Joseph A., Jennifer A., Kaley A., Luis V., and Darlynn V. and many nieces and nephews.

Rosaura was a beloved daughter, wife, mother, grandmother, and friend. She always shared kindness and compassion to all she met. Her heart and her home were ever open to receive anyone who had a need and nowhere to go. She will be dearly missed and remembered for her generous nature and genuine love that she gave so earnestly.

The family will receive friends on Friday, May 17, 2024 from 6-9 pm at Bladen Gaskins Funeral Home in Elizabethtown. A viewing will be held on Saturday, May 18^th from 1-4pm with a funeral service following at 4:00 pm with Pastor Rigoberto Lopez officiating. A burial will be held in the Bladen Memorial Gardens Cemetery following the services.

Rosaura fue una querida hija, esposa, madre, abuela y amiga. Ella siempre compartió bondad y compasión con todos los que conoció. Su corazón y su hogar estuvieron siempre abiertos para recibir a cualquiera que tuviera una necesidad y no tuviera adónde ir. La extrañaremos muchísimo y la recordaremos por su naturaleza generosa y el amor genuino que brindó con tanta sinceridad.

La familia recibirá amigos el viernes 17 de mayo de 2024 de 6 a 9-p. m. en la funeraria Bladen Gaskins en Elizabethtown. Se llevará a cabo un velorio el sábado 18 de mayo de 1 a 4-p. m. seguido de un funeral a las 4:00 p. m. con Pastori Rigoberto López oficiando. Se llevará a cabo un entierro en el cementerio Bladen Memorial Gardens después de los servicios.
