Roy Evers

Roy Hewitt Evers, age 93 of Bladenboro, died Monday, September 1, 2014 at Southeastern Regional Medical Center. He is preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy Mae Sellers Evers; sisters, Hattie Bryan, Jettie Batton, and Dovie Evers; and a brother, Floyd Evers. He is survived by two sons, Billy Evers and wife, Wanda of Bladenboro and Steven H. Evers and wife, Mickey of Bladenboro; one daughter, Jean Delancey and husband Phillip of Torrance, CA; long-time companion, Mary Walters of Bladenboro; six grandchildren, Pamela Giesegh of Upland, CA, Steven Evers, Jr. of Colwich, KS, Shane Evers of Clarkton, Brent Evers of Asheville, Billy Evers, Jr. of Oklahoma, Kevin Evers of Bladenboro, Deanna Packer of Bladenboro and Billy Packer of Clarkton; and eleven great grandchildren, Angelica Crosswhite, Jeremy Giesegh, Alex Evers, Summer Evers, Jayden Evers, Gavin Evers, Piper Evers, Blake Evers, Madison Evers, Taylor Packer and Jenna Packer.

The family will receive friends on Friday, September 5, 2014 from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m. at Bladen-Gaskins Funeral Home. Services will be conducted on Saturday, September 6, 2014 at 3:00 p.m. at Center Road Baptist Church officiated by Rev. Dewayne Lambeth and Rev. David Rutland. Burial will follow in New Pait Cemetery.
