Ruby Campbell

Ruby Hewett Campbell,87, of Council was called to her heavenly home on Saturday, July 28, 2012. She was preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, Paul R. Campbell. Also, gone before her were a baby boy, her parents, Troy and Frances Viola Hewett, two brothers, Cecil C. Hewett and H. Leon Hewett and seven sisters, Victoria H. Smith, Louise H. Williams, Marie H. Stone, Mary H. Brinson, Margaret H. Somersett, Elizabeth H. Andrews and Dixie H. Hinson.

Ruby was born December 20, 1924 in Brunswick County. She was a Godly woman who loved her Lord, her family, her community and Country and her church and church family. She was a faithful, active and longtime member of Carvers Creek United Methodist Church. She worked for many years as a tax-preparer in Carvers Creek Community and was loved and respected by her family and friends.

She is survived by a sister, Clara H. Ward; one daughter, Dianne C. Hatfield and husband Bruce; two granddaughters, Alyson and MacKenzie Hatfield, grandson, Cameron Hatfield and two sons, Paul Ricks Campbell; Glenn H. Campbell and wife Rosiland and grandson, Shane Wyke and numerous beloved nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, July 31, 2012 from 6:00 until 8:00 pm at Bladen-Gaskins Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, August 1, 2012 at 10:00 am at Carvers Creek United Methodist Church with Rev. Buddy Champion officiating. Burial will follow in church cemetery.
