Ruth Carson

September 6, 1930 — October 30, 2008

Ruth Elizabeth Johnson Carson, 78, of Bladenboro entered into eternal rest October 30, 2008 at her home. Mrs. Carson was born in Durham County on September 6, 1930. She was the daughter of the late Hamilton and Bevie Johnson of Parkersburg, NC.

Mrs. Carson was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Lloyd Milford Carson, Sr.; and brothers, Jerry Johnson, Wadell Johnson, and Cleo Johnson.

Mrs. Carson is survived by three sons, L. M. Carson, Jr. and wife, Filena of Autryville, NC, Stuart Carson and wife, Fran of Efland, NC, and Arnold Carson and wife, Becky of Wilmington, NC; one brother, Alton Johnson and wife, Inez of Parkersburg, NC; three sisters-in-law, Adine, Joy, and Margaret Johnson; three grandchildren, Daniel Carson and wife, Casey, Steven Carson and wife, Sandy, and Andrew Carson and wife, Kimberly; six great-grandchildren, Brendon, Reece, Jayden, Sydney, Summer, and Savannah; two step-grandchildren, Eric Lewis and Jimmy Dillon; and one step-great grandchild, Sarah Dillon. Mrs. Carson is also survived by several nieces and nephews and many friends.



Mrs. Carson was an active member of Sandy Grove Baptist Church. She was a devoted and loving wife, mother, grandmother, and aunt.



The family will receive friends on Saturday, November 1, 2008 from 6:00 until 8:00 pm at Bladen-Gaskins Funeral Home.



Funeral services will be held on Sunday, November 2, 2008 at Sandy Grove Baptist Church at 3:00 pm with the Rev. Jerry Beck officiating. Burial will follow in Bladen Memorial Gardens.



Memorials may be made to Sandy Grove Baptist Church Building Fund or to charity of your choice.
