Ruth Hayes, 81, of Bladenboro, passed away Friday, April 15, 2016. She is preceded in death by her parents, Walter and Eunice Grainger, husband, Floyd Hayes, and one sister, Patsy Grainger Thompson. Survivors include: three sons, Lloyd Hayes of Bladenboro, Rev. Walter Hayes and wife Peggy of Dublin, Gregory Hayes and wife Tammy of Bladenboro, one daughter, Judy Callahan of Abbottsburg, four sisters, Rita Hicks of Delaware, Janet Singletary of Bladenboro, Wanda Singletary of Bladenboro, and Nanette Soles of Whiteville. Grandchildren include: Carlton Hayes, Glenn Callahan, Ray Hayes, Denean Anderson, Ann Beverage, April Johnson, Amy Davis, and Joseph Pait. Great-grandchildren include: Hunter, Cameron, Anthony, Marissa, Kirstyn, Desires, Glenn, Scott, Aiden, Thomas, Jacob, Courtney, and Joey.
Mrs. Hayes was a kind and thoughtful lady who loved to travel, go to church, and watch hummingbirds. She was a fan of Elvis, Conway Twitty, and westerns. She was loved and cherished and will be missed by all who knew her.
Family will receive friends on Wednesday, April 20, 2016 from 7-9 pm at Bladen-Gaskins Funeral Home in Elizabethtown. Funeral service will be Thursday, April 21, 2016 at 2 pm at Galeed Baptist Church in Bladenboro. Rev. Walter Hayes, Rev. Warren Hill, and Rev. Jason Williams will be officiating. Burial will follow at church cemetery.
