Ruthie Mae King Byrd

Ruthie Mae King Byrd, 80, of Tar Heel, NC went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, August 15, 2024 while at Lower Cape Fear Life Care Angel House in Whiteville. She was born in Bladen County on May 6, 1944 the daughter of the late Lester King and Rannie Kinlaw King.

She was also preceded by her sisters, Ernestine Davis, Thelma Davis, Wilma Bedsole, and Rachel Russ and brothers, Nash King and Lester King Jr. Left to cherish her memory are beloved husband of 63 years, Charles Castle Byrd Jr., son Sandy Byrd (Rhonda), daughter Charlene Deal (Shurman), two brothers Murray King and William “Bill” King, sister Paula Zimberg, five grandchildren Ethan Byrd (Morgan), Mason Byrd, Gracan Faulk (Jon), Josiah Deal and Nathan Deal and three great grandchildren Levi Byrd, Eli Byrd, and Ellie Deal.

The family will receive friends on Sunday, August 18, 2024 from 3-4 pm at the Abe Branch Holiness Church in Bladenboro followed by a funeral service at 4 pm with Pastor David Clewis officiating. Burial will follow the services in the Allen Cemetery in Dublin.
