Samuel "Sammy" Russ

Samuel “Sammy” Maurice Russ, 74, of Clarkton passed away on June 30, 2024 at his home. He was born and raised in Bladen County, the son of the late Thomas Clyde Russ and Grace Evelyn Hood Russ.

 Sammy adored his family and friends. He enjoyed growing veggies, working in his building, or doing anything that would allow him to ride his tractor. He had a compassionate heart and would help anyone in need. He will be dearly missed.

 He was preceded by his parents and two brothers Ronnie Russ and Thomas Russ. Survivors include his son Ryan Russ (Tawny) of Fair Bluff, NC, brothers Terry Russ of Bladenboro and Joseph Russ of Pennsylvania, sisters Diane Babson and Miriam Bryan, both of Bladenboro, and one granddaughter, Mina Russ.

 The family will receive friends from 6-8 pm on Tuesday, July 2, 2024, at the Bladen Gaskins Funeral Home in Elizabethtown. A graveside service will be held in the McKinnon Cemetery in Clarkton on Wednesday, July 3, 2024, at 2 pm.
