Scott Howard Astern

Scott Howard Astern, 68, of Elizabethtown, passed away on Sunday, January 7, 2024 at Cape Fear Valley/Bladen County Hospital in Elizabethtown. He was preceded in death by his parents, Marvin and Dolores Astern.

Scott leaves behind his wife, Donna Astern; son, David Seth Astern; daughter, Sarah Danielle Cantoya; brother, Lee Astern; sister, Sharlene Astern; four grandchildren: Chloe Cantoya, Alayna Astern, Lucy Cantoya and Thomas Astern.

Scott spent 20 years serving in the United States Air Force where he later retired. He was an electronic warfare engineer and Microsoft engineer who also served time in Desert Storm. He was married to the love of his life, Donna for 49 years. Scott was a licensed gunsmith, Harley Davidson enthusiast who loved children and animals. His zeal for life and contagious personality will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.

A memorial service will be held at 3pm on Saturday, January 13th at Foundation Church in Elizabethtown with refreshments following service.
