Stephen Walker

Stephen Floyd Walker, 57, of Fayetteville, formerly of Elizabethtown, passed away this week in his home. He was preceded in death by his father, Floyd Walker, his loving wife Susan Ipock Walker, and one sister, Roxanne Walker.

Mr. Walker is survived by his mother, Dallas Walker, three sisters: Bonnell Walker, Pam Tatum and husband Edward, and Deborah Guyton and husband Ron, all of Elizabethtown, two nieces: Charlotte Tatum and Izma Brush, and three nephews: Walker Tatum, Winston Tatum, and James Littrell, treasured children: Krystal, Kristen, Christopher, Hardison, McNeil, Dallas, Victoria, and Matthew, the Ipock family of New Bern, and a group of close friends from the Lamda Chi Alpha Fraternity from Methodist College. He also leaves behind a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends in Bladen and Columbus counties. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him.

Stephen spent his childhood in Bladen County and graduated from East Bladen High School in 1975. He is remembered by childhood friends who enjoyed football and hunting together. He attended Methodist College where he met his wife, Susan Ipock, and made many lifelong friends.

Stephen has worked with Allman Electric Corporation in Fayetteville for the past twenty years where he served as an Electrician Foreman. He was honored with many company awards including an Outstanding Service Award and a Commercial Department Employee of the Year Award. He lovingly and firmly took crews of electricians onto job sites all over North Carolina. He was devoted to his men and to the company.

A Memorial service to celebrate his life will be held Sunday, March 23, 2014 at 3:00 pm at Trinity United Methodist Church in Elizabethtown. The family will receive friends in the church fellowship hall immediately following the service.
