Stevens Singletary

November 6, 1918 — October 27, 2008

Stevens \\"Steve\\" Graham Singletary, 89 of Clarkton entered into eternal rest on Monday, October 27, 2008.



Mr. Singletary was preceded in death by his parents, Snowden and Leola Stevens Singletary; a brother, J. S. Singletary ,and a sister, Elizabeth Benson. He was a lifelong member of Clarkton Presbyterian Church, where he was a deacon, elder and Sunday School Superintendent. He was an outgoing, humble and loving man with a service heart. He was retired from Clarkton Lions Club, Fire dept. and a delegate with Woodman of The World.



The family will receive friends, Tuesday, October 28, 2008, from 6:00 until 8:00pm at Bladen-Gaskins Funeral Home.



The funeral will be held on Wednesday, October 29, 2008 at 1:00pm at Clarkton Presbyterian Church with the Rev. Steuart Link officiating. Burial will follow in Clarkton Cemetery.



Mr. Singletary is survived by his wife, Eunice Batten Singletary of the home; four daughters, Jenny S. Foreman and husband William C. of Angier, Sheila S. Merritt and husband, Kenneth of Elizabethtown, Rebecca McBride and husband ,James III of Waxhaw, and Carol Daniel and husband, Donald of Ellerbe; two sisters, Jane C. Sampson of Iowa and Betsy Tilley of Granite Falls; nine grandchildren, Graham Peace, Carrie Hernandez, Destone Merritt, Jonathan Daniel, Emily Peace, Garrett Daniel. James McBride IV, Kayla Merritt and Hannah McBride; four great grandchildren, Mabel Stevens Daniel, Hunter Morgan, Saedie Daniel, and Ashton Hernandez; one step-grandson, Jeff Merritt and two step great grandchildren.
