Swannie Lennon Rogers

Swannie Lennon Rogers, 65, of Garland, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, December 18, 2024 surrounded by her beloved family. She was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph Luther Lennon, Sr. and Mary Everette Lennon; husband, Robert Morris Rogers; brothers: J.L. Lennon, Phillip Lennon and David Lennon.

Swannie leaves behind two brothers: Jesse Lennon (Kristie) of White Lake, Jimmy Lennon (Bonnie) of Elizabethtown; sister, Eloise Hill (Stuart) of Chadbourn; seven nieces and nephews: Phillip “Andy” Lennon (Emily), Jessica Lennon, Wesley Lennon (Dakota), David Lennon (Sarah), Brittany Lennon, Mary Jo Lennon and Mary Katelyn Lennon who were the apples of her eyes.

Swannie was a Bladen County native. She graduated from East Bladen High School in 1978. Swannie was well known for working at Carolina Master Fried in Elizabethtown for many years. She made the town’s famous and incredibly delicious coleslaw. Swannie loved being surrounded by her family and friends. Her nieces and nephews named her the best “babysitter” in town. Swannie’s home was full of love and warm homemade biscuits that her family enjoyed. The times spent with her will be cherished forever. She was one of a kind and will be greatly missed by all those who knew and loved her. 

The Lennon family would like to thank everyone who has prayed for Swannie and our family during this difficult time. We are very grateful and blessed. Swannie is now at peace and rejoicing with her mama, daddy, big brothers and Bubba in heaven.

A celebration of life service will be held at 2pm on Saturday, January 4, 2025 at 1879 Sweet Home Church Road, Elizabethtown, NC 28337.
