Thomas Grimes

Thomas Carlyle Grimes, 73, of Tar Heel passed away, Tuesday, December 1, 2015. He is preceded in death by his parents, Dexton and Annie Grimes; son, Tommy Grimes; and brother, Sammy Grimes. He is survived by his spouse, Cecile Hunt Grimes; daughter, Sebrina Harris of Tar Heel; sisters, Edna Atkinson and husband Fred of Clarkton, Carolyn Moree and husband Mickey of Taylorsville, Louise Tedder and husband Billy of Elizabethtown; grandchildren, Drew Harris, Lydia Harris, Cacen Flowers and Jasper Grimes and Lucas Grimes.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, December 3, 2015 from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Bladen-Gaskins Funeral Home. The funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, December 4, 2015 at Dublin First Baptist Church with the Rev. Cameron McGill and Rev. Warren Hill officiating. Burial will follow at Grimes Cemetery.

Thomas was a kind hearted man that would give you the shirt off his back. He was Santa for over 20 years. A lot of children and adults were blessed each year by the love and kindness he had for everyone. He will be missed dearly.
