Thomas Everett Hatcher, 79, of Elizabethtown entered into eternal rest Wednesday, March 5, 2008.
Mr. Hatcher was born in Johnston County to Joseph and Cora Hatcher. He served in the United States Air Force. He retired from the North Carolina Department of Revenue after 32 years of service, where he worked as a deputy collector. Mr. Hatcher was a faithful member of Elizabethtown Baptist Church, where he served as a deacon and a Sunday school teacher. He was also a member of the senior adult choir and the Brotherhood.
He was predeceased by his parents, Joseph and Cora Hatcher, and a sister, Margie Wellons.
Mr. Hatcher is survived by his wife, Ann, of the home; two sons, Tommy Hatcher and wife, Emily of Roanoke, Virginia and Joseph Hatcher and wife, April, of Elizabethtown; one daughter, Annette McRoberts and husband, Sammy, of Supply; one brother, Norwood Hatcher of Smithfield; one sister, Joann Daughtry of Selma; and six grandchildren.
Visitation is planned for Friday, March 7, 2008 from 6:00 until 7:30 pm at Bladen Funeral Home. The funeral will be Saturday, March 8, 2008 at 11:00 am at Elizabethtown Baptist Church with Dr. David Elks and Dr. Jerry Wallace officiating. Burial will follow the service in Bladen Memorial Gardens.
