Thomas Howell, of 106 Ivey St. Bladenboro, NC entered into rest on January 16, 2009, at his home. He is predeceased by sisters; Opal Stiver, Agnes Skelton, Nan Obenchain and Margaret Iles; and a granddaughter, Cassie Cheatham.
Mr. Howell, a Korean War Veteran, served his county for twelve years as a member of the 82nd Airborne. He worked for the Town of Bladenboro for four years and was a member of the Lion\\'s Club and Rotary Club. He served on the board of the Bladenboro Historical Society. As a faithful member of First Baptist Church of Bladenboro, Mr. Howell was a teacher of the Men\\'s Adult Sunday School Class.
He is survived by his wife Virginia Howell of the home; two sons, Thomas J. Howell and wife Connie of Bladenboro and William \\"Bill\\" Howell of the home; one daughter, Patricia \\"Patty\\" Howell of Bladenboro; one brother, Ralph W. Howell of Denver, Colorada; one sister, Marie Rush of Dinuba, California; and eight grandchildren, Regina Culbreth and husband Scott, Erica Thompson, Scarlet Berkheimer and husband Donald, Oakley Howell and wife Amanda, Ruth, David, Rose and Savannah Howell; and ten great grandchildren.
The family will receive friends at First Baptist Church of Bladenboro on Sunday, January 18, 2009 from 5:00 to 7:00 pm. Funeral Services will be conducted on Monday, January 19, 2009 at First Baptist Church of Bladenboro at 11:00 am officiated by Rev. Bert Young. Burial will follow the service at Pinecrest Cemetery.
