Victoria “Vickie” Cain Taylor

Victoria “Vickie” Cain Taylor, 73, of Bladenboro passed away at Elizabethtown Nursing Center on Saturday, December 2, 2023. She was preceded in death by her parents, Levie and Appie Cain; her husband, Harold W. Taylor; her sisters, Jo Ann Edwards and husband Ollen, and Carol Strickland and husband Bobby; and her brothers, Levie Cain, Jr. and Kenneth Cain.

Vickie leaves behind her daughter, Twyla Taylor Davis and husband Allen Dale of Bladenboro; her sons, Greg Taylor and wife Donna of Lumberton, and Brad Taylor and wife Caroline of Bladenboro; seven grandchildren: Anthony Davis (Hannah), Jeremy Davis (Faith), Bethany Davis, Dylan Taylor, Haley Taylor, Miles Taylor, Emma Taylor; one great-grandchild, Jameson Davis; and sisters-in-law, Shelby Cain and Vickie L. Cain.

Vickie was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend. She was a woman of strong faith, a prayer warrior, and a natural caregiver. She was persistent in caring for her family during their times of sickness, and she sacrificed much of her own life and health to care for her husband when he became disabled. 

Vickie loved going to church when she was able; she was a member of Bethel Baptist Church, where she served as a Sunday School teacher as long as her health allowed. She was also a retired elementary school teacher, loved and respected by her co-workers and students. Vickie will be remembered for her gentleness, kindness, and love for her Lord.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00pm on Tuesday, December 5, 2023 at Bladen Gaskins Funeral Home in Elizabethtown. A funeral service will be held at 3:00pm on Wednesday, December 6, 2023, at Bethel Baptist Church. Dr. Mack Roberts and Rev. Warren Hill will officiate. Burial will follow in the Kelly Cemetery on Old Boardman Road in Bladenboro.  

At all other times the family will receive friends at the home of Brad and Caroline Taylor, 6018 NC 131 hwy, Bladenboro.

The family would like to thank the staff of Bladen Medical Associates, Liberty Hospice, and Elizabethtown Nursing Center for their excellent care and attention. They are also thankful to the many caregivers who attended to Vickie and her husband over the years.
