Virginia McLamb Bennett, 73, of Bladenboro went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, August 14, 2019. She was preceded in death by her parents, Ralph Lindsey Johnson and Vivian Jeffers Johnson, husband Clarence McLamb and one daughter, Lisa McLamb. Virginia leaves behind two sons: George McLamb (Angie) of Garland, Clarence “Junior” (Rhonda) of Woodburn, VA; one daughter, Teresa Herring (Wayne) of St. Pauls; three granddaughters: Kayla Allen(TJ), Krystal Fletcher (Kevin) and Hannah Britt(Jacob), four grandsons: Allen Britt (Alyssa), Kris McLamb (Samantha), Josh McLamb (Amber), and Kaleb McLamb (Marie) and 13 great grandchildren.
Virginia was a loving, compassionate Christian woman. She cherished her family and held great pride in all their accomplishments. Virginia loved her church and the church family of Bethel Holiness. She enjoyed attending church services and sewing. She was also known as the “Community Taxi”; anytime someone needed a ride to the doctor’s office or grocery store, they could call Virginia and she would go. She never turned down a trip to the mountains. Her giving heart and gentle spirit will be dearly missed.
The family will receive friends from 1-2 pm on Friday, at Bethel Holiness Church in Bladenboro. A funeral service will follow at 2 pm with Rev. Jerry Smith and Rev. Aaron Leonard officiating. Burial will follow the services in the Cashwell Cemetery in Bladenboro.
