Virginia Tatum

Virginia Dare Tatum, 84, of Tar Heel passed away Friday, January 27, 2017. She is preceded in death by her parents Dillon and Kate Horne, husband William A. Tatum Sr., brothers: Tom and Autheo Horne, infant brother and sister, 9 year old brother Bobby Lee Horne, and son David Tatum Sr. Left to cherish her memory are sons: William A. "Bill" Tatum Jr. of Tar Heel; and Kenny Tatum Sr. and wife Robin of Dublin; brother Carl Horne of Stedman; sisters: Mary E. Miller and husband David of St. Pauls and Rebecca Jolly of St. Pauls; six grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, lots of nieces and nephews, a special friend: Elizabeth Bordeaux, and a spoiled pet dog Sparky.

Virginia was a loving, good person. She cared deeply for her family, grandchildren, church family and a host of others. A longtime member of Singletary United Methodist Church that will be missed greatly.

The family will receive friends from 6-8 pm on Monday, January 30, 2017 at Bladen Gaskins Funeral Home in Elizabethtown. Funeral service will be Tuesday, January 31st at 11 am at Singletary United Methodist Church in Dublin officiated by Rev. Arthur Warren. Burial will follow the services in the Tatum Cemetery on Owen Hill Rd.
