Vivian Kathleen Nunnery, 82, of Elizabethtown passed away Tuesday, June 11, 2013. She was preceded in death by her parents Richard and Charlotte Brown, her husbands: Homer Curtis Barnhill and Henry Raymond Nunnery, one son Curtis Ronald Barnhill, three half sisters: Myrtle Horrell, Viola Murray, and Lennie Kelly, one brother Preston Brown, and two half brothers: Thomas Brown and Cedric Brown. She is survived by one son Marcus Randy Barnhill of Elizabethtown; three daughters: Sharon Guyton and husband David of Elizabethtown, Rose Moore Vernon and husband David of Currie and Valerie Morris and husband Dean of Bladenboro; a daughter-in-law Rhonda Barnhill of Eden; one brother Vance Edward Brown of Bolton; eight grandchildren, six great grandchildren, and one special caregiver Dorethea Edwards.
Vivian had many talents including sewing, crafts, and playing the piano. She worked at Elizabethtown Primary and East Bladen High in the cafeteria. She enjoyed cooking and working in her flower garden. She taught Sunday school for over 30 years at Elizabethtown Baptist Church. Vivian loved her family and will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
The family will receive friends from 3:00-3:45 pm on Friday, June 14, 2013 at Bladen Gaskins Funeral Home followed by a Graveside service at 4:00 pm at Bladen Memorial Gardens in Elizabethtown with Rev. Billy Moore and Rev. Danny Lewis officiating.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to Elizabethtown Baptist Church Children's Dept. or Lower Cape Fear Hospice of Whiteville.
