Wadis Butler

Wadis Page Butler, age 74 of Dublin, died Saturday, August 31, 2013. He was preceded in death by his parents, Vance and Berta Butler; two brothers, Buddy Butler and Vance Butler, Jr.; a sister, Bonnie Britt; two half brothers, Clarence Butler and Kirby Butler; two half sisters, Mary Etta Britt and Willie Downing; one brother-in-law, Vernon Brown and his beloved Boston Terrier, "Buddy".

He owned WP Butler Trucking Company. He and his dog "Buddy" were a fixture in Bladen County. His opinions were never left to your own imagination. He had a love for all people.

He is survived by his wife, Louise Ivey Butler of the home; son, Wadis Keith Butler and wife Christeen of Apex; daughter, Meredith Paige Hughes and husband Matthew of Leland; sister, Lucille Brown of Dublin; sister-in-law, Clarice Butler of Dublin who helped raise him; five grandchildren, Faith Ventura and husband Tony, Hayden Hughes, Macy Layne Hughes, Tess Butler, Logan Butler and three great grandchildren, Marco, Alehandra and Miguel Ventura.

The family will receive friends on Monday, September 2, 2013 at Bladen-Gaskins Funeral Home from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Services will be conducted on Tuesday, September 3, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. at Dublin First Baptist Church officiated by Rev. Cameron McGill and Rev. Warren Hill. Burial will follow at Singletary United Methodist Church Cemetery.
