William Lee “Buddy” Deaver, 53, of Bladenboro passed away on Monday, January 10, 2022 at his home. He is preceded in death by his father, William Arthur Deaver, stepfather Marvin Hammond and one nephew, Willis Johnson. Buddy leaves behind his mother, Margaret Hammond of the home, son, Cameron Priest of Dublin, daughter, Savanna Scobie of TN, three sisters, Kim Spurling, Wendy Dicicco (Stewart Oliver) and Teresa Horton (Steve), all of Bladenboro, four nephews, Christopher Johnson (Meagan), Dustin Spurling, Colby Horton (Tina), and Channing Horton (Madison), one niece Camryn Horton, two great nieces, Lyla Reid Horton and Layken Reece Horton and one great nephew, Stephen Colby Horton Jr. aka “SJ”. Buddy also leaves behind two families very close in heart, Allison Jones (Brandon) and children, Brice and Tredon Scott and Brandon Fowler (Kiara) and children Wyatt Fowler and Austin “Bubba” Fowler.
Buddy was a loving son “A Mama’s could never do wrong son”, brother, uncle, and friend. He adored his family. Buddy enjoyed a good fight with his sister Teresa, enjoyed referring to Wendy as “Little Big Sister” and letting Kim know what she should, couldn’t or better do. He was a hard worker who loved the great outdoors. He will be missed for his sense of compassion and quick wit.
The family will receive friends on Saturday, January 15, 2022 from 6-8 pm at the Bladenboro Chapel of Bladen Gaskins. A funeral service will be held on Sunday at 2 pm in the Bladenboro Chapel. Burial will follow the services in the Storms Cemetery in Bladenboro.
