William "Bill" Aubrey Perritt, Jr., 65, of Bladenboro entered into eternal rest Wednesday, February 27, 2008.
Bill was born in Marion County, South Carolina. He was the oldest of three sons born to William Aubrey and Frances Lundy Perritt. They resided in the Zion Community. He was in the United States Army and served in the Vietnam War. After his service in the Army, he returned to his home in Bladenboro, where he was a diligent and dedicated member of the community. Bill organized the Bladen Southwest Fire Department and served as the Fire Chief for ten years with the Bladenboro Fire Department. He also served as a Commissioner for the Town of Bladenboro from 1988-1992. Several years ago, Bill also became a faithful servant to his church, First Baptist Church of Bladenboro. He not only served at the church, but also on mission trips. In 2002, he retired from Carolina Power and Light as a supervisor. Bill has been a valued staff member of Bladen Funeral Home since 2004.
He was predeceased by his parents, William Aubrey and Frances Perritt and his two brothers.
He is survived by his wife, Julia Perritt, of the home; one son, Aubrey Perritt and wife, Terri of Chadbourn; three granddaughters, Desiree Williamson, Paige Williamson, and Madison Rabon; and a special little friend, Baylee Simmons.
The visitation is planned for Friday, February 29, 2008 from 7:00 until 9:00 pm at First Baptist Church of Bladenboro. The funeral will be Saturday, March 1, 2008 at 2:00 PM at First Baptist Church of Bladenboro with Rev. Bert Young officiating. Burial will follow the service in Pine Crest Cemetery.
