Willie Packer

Willie Lee Packer, age 74, of Bladenboro died Saturday July 31, 2010 at home with his family. He was born on October 19, 1935 in Bladen County to Graham and Essie Cain Packer. He retired from Federal Paper. He was preceded in death by his parents, a sister, Mildred Bullard and brother, Claude Packer.



Survivors include his wife of 54 years, Janice Hester Packer; two daughters Rebecca P. Joseph of Garner, Martha P. Walker and husband Roger Walker of Chadbourn; two grandchildren, Shannon Walker of Oak Island and Ryan Walker of Chadbourn; one brother, Lacy Packer of Miami, Florida; four sisters, Sadie Jones of Evergreen, NC, Frances Batton, Rose Dove, and Helen Blackmon all of Bladenboro. He is also survived by loving brothers and sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, and many friends.



Final rites will be held on Tuesday, August 3, 2010 at a 10:00 a.m. Graveside Service at Guyton Cemetery officiated by Rev. Earl Hester and Rev. Robert Oldman. The family will receive friends on Monday, August 2, 2010 at Bladen-Gaskins Funeral Home from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m.
