Willis Cole

September 24, 1933 — May 31, 2011

Mr. Willis "Hunter" Cole, Jr., Age 77 passed away on Tuesday, May 31, 2011. He was born in Bladen County to Willis Hunter Cole, Sr. and Eloise Hair Cole on September 24, 1933.



He was predeceased by his parents and his sister, Jean Cole Fisher. He is survived by his four children, Willis Hunter Cole, III and wife Sandy of Elizabethtown, Allan Hunter Cole of Denver, CO, Kitty Cole Nye and husband Eddie of Elizabethtown, and Lee Alexander Cole and wife Elizabeth of Elizabethtown, a brother-in-law, Bill Fisher of Elizabethtown; 10 grandchildren, Meredith, Nathan, Benjamin, Will IV, Cole, Christopher, Kathryn, Samuel, Hannah and Collin, and many close relatives and dear friends, especially Emily and Tom Roberson.



After graduating Elizabethtown High School, he attended Duke University on a football scholarship. This began his lifelong passion for the Blue Devils. He served in the U.S. Army in Germany in the A.S.A. Alpiners. After military service, he returned home to Bladen County and began his adventures in business. His entrepreneurial spirit led him to outdoor advertising and eventually to Prismavision, U.S.A. where he loved to travel the world, but loved coming home to Elizabethtown and his family more.



The family is truly grateful for the compassionate care given by Robert Walker, Earlene Meares, Gloria McLaughlin and Sandra Rogers.



Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am Friday, June 3, 2011 at the Elizabethtown Baptist Church Christian Activities Center, with the Reverend Chris Carroll officiating.



The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 pm Thursday, June 2, 2011 at the home, 105 Cromartie Road, Elizabethtown, NC 28337.
