Wilma Virginia Carroll Hursey, 85, of Dublin, NC passed away on Sunday, December 9, 2012. She was born in Bladen County on November 6, 1927 daughter of the late Nathan Bryan Carroll and Vira Rene King Carroll.

She was preceded in death by two sisters, Lucille Carroll Taylor and Margaret Carroll Garner; three brothers, NB Carroll, Ballard Carroll and Thomas Carroll.

She is survived by her husband of 68 years Theron David Hursey, II; one sister, Marie Carroll Storms; sister-in-law, Mavis Hursey Singletary; two children, Abigail Hursey Jackson and husband Bill of Maryland and T. David Hursey, III and wife Jackie of Dublin; five grandchildren, Sheryl Lynn Cruz, Lauren Hursey, Cristin Hursey, Carmen Hursey Greene, Davida Hursey Hall; two step-grandchildren, Henry and Matthew Batten; nine great grandchildren, Erica and Jackson Cruz, Weslyn and Madelyn Hall, Braxton and Brylan Kinlaw, Mason Greene; Logan and Mary Catherine Batten and many nieces and nephews.

She was a charter member of Dublin First Baptist Church where she was Choir Director for 38 years. She received the Kenneth Hester Servant Award at Dublin First Baptist Church in October, 1995. She was a homemaker and bookkeeper of the family business, Dublin Woodwork Shop for 60 plus years.

She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister and had many nieces and nephews. One of her main interest was collecting angels and Madame Alexander Dolls.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, December 11, 2012 from 6:30 until 8:30 pm at Bladen-Gaskins Funeral Home. The funeral services will be held on Wednesday, December 12, 2012 at 2:00 pm at Dublin First Baptist Church with Rev. Cameron McGill, Rev. Warren Hill and Dr. Mack Roberts officiating. Burial will follow in Allen Cemetery.
